THE PLAN OF SALVATION
1. Realize your need for God. "For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God" (Romans 3:23) ."The wages of sin is death, but the gift of
God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). "It is
appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews
9:27).
2. Confess your sins to God. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
Just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
(1John 1:9). "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved" (Romans 10:9).
3. Believe on the Lord. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt
be saved, and thy house" (Acts 16:31). " With the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession Is made unto
salvation" (Romans 10:10).
4. Pray a prayer of confession and repentance: O, Lord, I realize I am a
sinner. Be merciful to me. I repent of my sins now and believe You to be
my Savior. Please forgive me for all my wrongs, for I acknowledge You as
my Lord. Take me, now, and make me Your child. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
5. Testify to Christ’s saving grace. "If any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new;
(2 Corinthians 5:17). "Ye shall be witnesses unto me..unto the uttermost
part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).
6. Identify with a good church. The Church is Christ’s body (Ephesians 1:
22,23). "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the
manner of some is" (Hebrews 10:25).
7. Continue on the path toward spiritual maturity. As newborn babes,
desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby" (1 Peter 2:
2). "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth
not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15)
